Hello, this is Arobendo Mondal, a final year Integrated BS-MS student of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata. I was born and brought up in Ranchi. I did my schooling from St. Aloysius school and then +2 from St. Xavier's college, Ranchi. From school days I had an inclination towards science, and physics in particular fascinated me the most. I never thought that in future I will be in the field of research but IISER-Kolkata and NIUS, (National Initiative on Undergraduate Science) HBCSE, Mumbai (Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education) give me the flavour of research and provided me a platform to explore the various avenues of research. I have taken Chemistry as Major and the credit goes to NIUS-Chemistry team,

(specially Dr. Savita ladage and Dr. Milind Deshmukh) who were able to make me understand the importance and implications of chemistry not only in our daily lives, but also it is one of the pillars which forms the basis for the advancement of science as a whole. This is also the place where I got introduced to "Theoretical Chemistry".
Presently I am working with Dr. A. K. Tiwari whose research area is Theoretical Reaction Dynamics. I learnt a lot from him about this field and many more things about research. He has guided me not only on a professional level, but on a personal level too.

Other than studies I am interested in Arts and Games. I was awarded the first prize in face-painting as well as in Rangoli (an Indian art in which we use colour powder to make design on the floor) making competition. I am Secretary of the Arts club of IISER-K which is named as “Tarang”. Generally,I like to do 3D arts like model making with the help of scraps. I like to play badminton and table tennis. My hobbies include skating, coin collection and travelling. I am a very friendly and outgoing person. I also love interacting with people and make new friends. I love travelling and exploring new places.

My dreams are very ambitious. But above all, I pray to God that whatever he may enable me to acheive, he should surely give me the strength to be a very good human being.
