Subhajit Mishra

I am a BS-MS graduate from IISER Kolkata with physics major (May, 2017). I did my Master's Thesis under the supervision of Prof. Narayan Banerjee on Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity. While studying in undergraduate, my interest shifted to pure mathematics. During that time, I worked with Dr. Somnath Basu on various topics in Topology and Differential Geometry.

I am broadly interested in Differential Geometry and Algebraic Topology. I also interested in Algebraic Geometry and Category Theory. In future, I want to explore the mathematical formalisms of physical theories. You can see the details about my research here.

Currently, I am staying at IISER Kolkata as a project student. My current focus is on learning some of the basic mathematics which motivated me to attend several mathematics courses that includes metric space, multivariable calculus, group theory, measure theory, geometry of curves and surfaces, galois theory, differential geometry. Moreover, I am reading vector bundles from Milnor's Book and giving weekly lectures to Dr. Basu. Apart from these, I am heavily involved in Graduate Student Seminar and Learning Seminar in Morse Theory. I have given few talks on Topological Manifolds, Smooth Manifolds, Tangent Spaces and Tangent Bundle as the part of the Morse Theory Seminar. I am also discussing various problems in topology and algebraic topology with my felow friends.
