Hello,
Two things motivate me to pursue this academic path, the joy of (re)discovery, i.e the momentary euphoria which follows when you truly understand something and its sibling, the underlying beauty, oftentimes obfuscated in nature.
I enjoy challenging pursuits of all sorts. I love to debate, however quixotic the topic may be, because as they say, "There are no solutions, there are only trade-offs"-Thomas Sowell.
Best wishes,

I am a Physics Major with primary interests in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics. I have taken a wide array of courses in foundational and advanced Physics and Mathematics like Quantum Mechanics (Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced), Electrodynamics (Introductory, Intermediate), Statistical Mechanics (Introductory, Intermediate), Classical Mechanics (Introductory, Intermediate), Quantum Field Theory, Linear Algebra, Analysis (Real and Complex), Differential Geometry, Group Theory, Galois Theory, Algebraic Topology, etc to name a few.
2015 - present
I developed a penchant for science during this period. I also trained for olympiads and competitive programming and was selected for INOI. I was also selected in the prestigious national level merit test N.T.S.E. and was awarded the K.V.P.Y. Fellowship. I passed my senior secondary examinations with a 92% aggeagate score.
2013-2015
Under the supervision of Dr. Pushan Majumdar
I worked on parallelising Fortran code for lattice gauge simulations using OpenMP. I also learnt the path integral approach to field theory and gauge theories in great detail.
Summer 2018, 2019
In association with Dr. Guruprasad Kar
We covered a lot of the key areas of Quantum Computation, including several algorithms for Cryptography, Searching, etc and also discussed germane theoretical aspects like entanglement and its properties, information entropy, etc.
Summer 2017
In association with Dr. Ananda Dasgupta
We looked at the age old toy problem of a particle moving in a tunnel through the earth, with added complications like non-uniform densities, non-diametrical path, etc and discovered some striking features that still remain unexplained.
Summer 2016
I am a robotics enthusiast, and I enjoy all aspects of it, from writing SLAM algorithms or image processing programs to designing and building robots that can climb stairs. I have also conducted introductory workshops on robotics and the arduino platform.
I have played in the Senior Division Men's Basketball league of my state. I have also represented my college team in Basketball, Volleyball and Athletics.
I enjoy listening to a wide array of music, with the likes of Beethoven on one end to The Beatles on the other. I am a self-taught ukulele player. I also enjoy cooking, reading and a whole host of other activities.
Deep learning systems hold immense promise in solving several intractable problems. However they are vulnerable to adversarial attacks.
I am currently exploring potential solutions to this problem through cryptographic methods, as part of my MS dissertation.Supervisor : Dr. Utpal Garain
