Research Projects
- Currently working on M.S. project under Dr. Chiranjib Mitra on "Magneto-Optic Kerr Effect in correlated electronic systems".
- Project on "Characterization of materials using Faraday effect", under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Theo Rasing, Prof Dr. Andrei Kirilyuk and Dr. Alexey Kimel, SSI, Radboud University. During this project I learned about the superparamagnetic states present in magnetic materials. I also studied the magnetization switching mechanism by the effect of Ultrafast Lasers.
- Study project on the “Electroweak Theory and its similarities in Superconductivity” in which I studied the Higg’s Mechanism in Superconductivity, due to the spontaneous symmetry breaking resulting in the destruction of Goldstone Boson and the formation of massive field under the supervision of Dr. Subhashish Sinha.
- Semester project under the supervision of Dr. Chirnajib Mitra, studying the continuous wave (CW) Magneto Optic Kerr Effect (MOKE) on the thin layer semiconductors. In this project I assembled three optical setups for different purposes. I have also learned about the working of various noise reduction instruments used in the above setups. I have also designed the CW pump probe setup for the above purpose.
- Project on “Coherent Phonons in Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene using Ultrafast Pump Probe Spectroscopy”, under the supervision of Prof Junichiro Kono, Rice University. During this project I have learned to assemble and use the Coherent Phonon setup for both reflection and transmission geometry, also I have worked on “Photoluminescence absorption of Carbon Nanotubes” in the same tenure.
- Reading Project under Dr. Prashanth C Upadhya, understanding the basics of Terahertz Spectroscopy and its applications, Growth of Nano-structures by Bottom-up techniques, I have also done projects on the carrier transport in nanostructures and building microprocessor based circuits to control laser shutters and interlocks. I have also studied the basics of Pump-probe technique, Terahertz Generation and detection using Photoconductive Aperture antenna.
- Project under Dr. Venkatraman Mahalingam, on the experimental growth of Nano structures.
