My proclivity toward science has remained back with me since my early schooling days when I was introduced to the particular subject way back in the 2010s. Since the beginning, exploring various interesting articles published in the school magazines pertaining to contemporary scientific discoveries has been one of my hobbies, and has continuously inspired me to look around for beautiful innovations being conducted by researchers worldwide. Continuous encouragement from an elite panel of teachers along with support from my family has motivated me to choose chemistry as my career of choice.

My early schooling till higher secondary has been from Prabhujee English Medium School, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, one of the leading schools of my state affiliated to the CBSE board. I obtained my matriculate and higher secondary degrees in 2015 and 2017 with a cumulative CGPA of 10 and a percentile of 96% respectively. Next, I proceeded ahead by enrolling in the Bachelor of Science program with honors in chemistry at BJB Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar, affiliated to Utkal University, and graduated with a cumulative CGPA of 9.66 in 2020. The next phase of my academic life was dedicated to clearing the IIT-JAM entrance exam with flying colors (AIR-339) followed by the pursuit of the masters degree at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Hyderabad from August 2020-2022. After graduating with an M.Sc in Chemistry with a CGPA of 9.59, currently I am a research scholar at the Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata in the Organic Synthesis and Catalysis lab under the supervision of Dr. Biplab Maji since December 2022. My initial days were dedicated to the completion of the requisite coursework (completed with a cumulative CGPA of 9.4) and early exploration of the myriad options available for my doctoral research.

The current-day scenario in synthetic organic chemistry has been circumferent around the development of tools and protocols bearing proximity with sustainability. Development of greener, and safer catalytic pathways has been the bull's eye in the past decade. My current research entails photochemistry with the target of generating value-added molecules bearing sophisticated structural disposition and intricate three-dimensional architecture from abundantly available flat, aromatic precursors by employing the energy stored in visible light photons. My present area of work involves visible light-mediated triplet sensitization and photoredox catalysis.
