Day 2: Sittong – The Land of Solitude (5th October)

Sittong Landscape

The morning brought an unexpected twist—the train was delayed by a grueling five hours. Frustration threatened to creep in, but we kept our spirits high, knowing the best was yet to come.

Upon reaching NJP, we quickly arranged transport and set off for Sittong, our first destination. Winding roads cut through lush green hills, the air crisp with the scent of pine. By the time we reached our homestay, it was 2 PM. Exhausted but eager, we dumped our bags and rushed to the nearby river stream—a hidden paradise.

The cold water rejuvenated us, washing away the weariness of the journey. It felt surreal, almost like having a private piece of nature to ourselves. As the sun dipped, we explored the village, soaking in the simple, peaceful lifestyle of Sittong.

The evening was nothing short of magical. With steaming cups of Darjeeling Red Tea and crispy pakoras, we sat under the open sky, as old Bollywood songs played in the background. Conversations flowed effortlessly, laughter echoed in the air, and for a moment, life felt utterly perfect.

And then came the highlight of the night—"Daaru Dance." As the music got louder, we lost ourselves in carefree joy, dancing away under the starlit sky. The night ended on a high note, promising even greater adventures ahead.
